Gruene Gereral Store Sign BW - The Gruene General Store was re-opened in 1989 and features an extensive collection of Texas-made products. You can purchase all kinds of texas products from preservative, gourmet coffees, to all kinds of memorabilia, and even has a old fashion soda fountain. This is a vintage site with much in the way of nostalgia to please anyone. The town was created back in the 1870's by German immigrants till a outbreak of boll weavels destroyed the cotton crops. Today historic Gruene is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a booming tourist town.
