Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The courthouse for Goliad County greets the sunrise early one October morning. The current courthouse is the fourth such building for Goliad County and was completed in 1894. The large oak tree on the left edge of the image has a sad history, having been used for lynchings in the years before (and likely after) the American Civil War.
Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
